WATCHLIST: The Balm for Skin That’s Acting Suspicious

WATCHLIST: The Balm for Skin That’s Acting Suspicious

Let’s be honest—sometimes your skin does something weird. A random spot, a rough patch that won’t go away, or a bump that sets off your gut instinct. This balm was born from all the “hey, can I put this on that?” questions we’ve heard over the years at markets and in messages.

We knew we needed something strong—but still natural and nourishing. So we made WATCHLIST, a balm designed to be your backup plan for those questionable spots. Handcrafted with ingredients we already know, love, and have seen some pretty awesome results with. This balm, is a first of its kind.

What’s In It (And Why It Matters)

Our Spot Balm is a powerhouse of four ingredients, each one chosen intentionally:

Ivermectin

Yes, that ivermectin. Known primarily as an antiparasitic, it’s also:

  • FDA-approved for rosacea as a topical 1% cream (Soolantra)
  • Studied for use in cystic acne, due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-Demodex properties
  • Researched in in-vitro studies for its ability to inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells like melanoma and ovarian cancer

But Is It Safe?

Yes—ivermectin has a long-standing safety track record. It’s been used in both human and veterinary medicine for over 40 years, and in 2015, it was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for its role in treating parasitic diseases like river blindness. It’s also on the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines, which basically means it’s considered both important and safe when used properly.

Topically, ivermectin is FDA-approved in a 1% cream formulation (called Soolantra) for rosacea. Our balm contains approximately 1% ivermectin as well, used externally and in a small area-specific application. Safe for long term and daily use.

When combined with nourishing, natural ingredients like tallow, frankincense resin, arnica, and castor oil, it becomes a well-rounded, skin-supporting balm you can feel confident using. We always recommend doing a small patch test—especially if you're prone to sensitivities—but overall, this is a product built on both tradition and science.

"As always, use your intuition and check in with your preferred healthcare provider if you’re managing a specific condition or just want more peace of mind."

For those curious about the findings of ivermetin for non traditional uses, Dr. William Makis, who is a Canadian nuclear medicine physician and oncologist has a few different speeches talking about his findings. He has publicly discussed the potential use of ivermectin in treating various skin conditions, including skin cancer, cystic acne, and rosacea. In a recent interview, Dr. Makis highlighted anecdotal reports and case studies where topical ivermectin showed promising results in managing these conditions.

(It's important to note that while these discussions are ongoing, more extensive clinical research is needed to establish the efficacy and safety of ivermectin for these specific dermatological uses). We highly recommend doing your own amount of research if you are experiencing any of these conditions. I am not trying to give you medical advice, we would just like to help broaden the conversation about readily available options.

Frankincense Resin Infused Castor Oil

We don’t use just the essential oil—we slow-infuse real resin into castor oil for:

  • Deep tissue penetration
  • Support for cell renewal and inflammation
  • Rich fatty acids and boswellic acids known for their regenerative potential

(More on this ingredient combo in our upcoming post: “Frankincense & Castor: A Skin Revival Duo” because it deserves its own page of information)

Arnica:

Nature's Anti-Inflammatory Powerhouse

Arnica montana, a flowering herb from the sunflower family, has been traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. When applied topically, arnica can:

  • Reduce inflammation: Arnica contains helenalin, a compound known to inhibit inflammatory markers, which can help soothe irritated skin.
  • Alleviate bruising and swelling: Its ability to improve blood circulation may aid in reducing discoloration and puffiness.
  • Promote skin healing: By stimulating white blood cell activity, arnica can assist in the healing process of minor skin injuries.

These properties might explain the tightening and smoothing effect you will experience after applying the balm.

Safety Considerations

While arnica offers several skin benefits, it's essential to use it correctly:

  • Topical use only: Arnica should not be ingested or applied to open wouns, as it can be toxic when absorbed into the bloodstream
  • Patch test recommended: Some individuals may experience allergic reactions; it's advisable to test a small area first.
  • Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding: Due to limited research on its effects during these periods, it's best to consult a healthcare provider.

Beef Tallow

Our base, because your skin deserves a moisturizer that doesn’t fight your body—it works with it. Tallow delivers fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and mimics your skin’s natural oils. This creates the perfect combination to mix all these wonderful ingredients together.

Can't I just go buy Ivermectin?

Yes! You can! And maybe you should if you are not interested in the powerhouse combo we have infused together in our signature "Watch List" Balm. We keep plenty on hand as well. Everyone should learn more about the benefits of Ivermectin. Just please do your research, I can not stress this enough, talk to your doctor, even though they would rather you take a toxic money making prescription. I believe there are doctors out there who are paying attention to new studies and curious about healing, not just treating symptoms.
